Dakota Rural Action (DRA) members and leaders protect the water and environment of South Dakota by fighting the siting of animal factory farms, educating local decision makers about their responsibilities and powers, and inspiring communities with alternatives in sustainable and regenerative agriculture by training new farmers. DRA is also working with the Rosebud Economic Development Corporation (REDCO) to create a culturally appropriate beginning farmer training and support program for the Lakota food and agriculture producers on the Rosebud Reservation.
