The Mapping Prejudice Project is leading community members in the work of creating a visual, interactive map of racial covenants in Hennepin County. The map is a vehicle for social change. It provides new data for policymakers. And it builds a constituency for policy innovation by inviting citizen-researchers to read historic documents that illuminate the racism of twentieth century housing practices. The team is creating a tool kit based on this work that will help other communities catalyze conversations about structural racism and support transformative policymaking.
